Tinubu had travelled to France on September 4 for part of his annual holiday, with initial plans to also spend time in the United Kingdom. During his stay in Paris, he held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, where both leaders reviewed bilateral relations and pledged closer cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
