Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said initial checks revealed that Peller was at home and unharmed.
“We are investigating the allegation, but we can confirm that Habeeb, popularly called Peller, is safe and sound at home. His vehicle, phones, and other belongings are intact; nothing was missing,” Hundeyin stated.
He added that police are still probing the circumstances to determine whether it was a genuine kidnap attempt, a staged incident, or a false alarm.
The 20-year-old content creator was earlier reported to have been taken by armed men while livestreaming on TikTok. In widely circulated footage, he appeared to mistake the men for security operatives before being led away.
Peller, who rose to fame in 2021 with his short-form TikTok videos, has since grown his online presence to include livestreaming shows and events on Twitch.
