Oke-Ogun Leaders Reaffirm Support for Governor Seyi Makinde After Senator Hosea Agboola’s Defection

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the Oke-Ogun zone in Oyo State have declared their unwavering support for Governor Seyi Makinde, emphasizing that recent defections—particularly that of former Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola—do not represent the will of the majority within the party.

During a stakeholders’ meeting comprising former local government chairmen, vice chairmen, and party executives, the leaders reaffirmed their total loyalty to Governor Makinde and the PDP. They described the defection of a few members as “acts of opportunism, inconsistency, and political desperation,” insisting that the strength and unity of the party in Oke-Ogun remain intact.

The forum highlighted several of Governor Makinde’s developmental strides in Oke-Ogun, including the upgrading of The Polytechnic, Saki to award Higher National Diplomas (HNDs), the establishment of a LAUTECH campus in Iseyin, relocation of the Oyo State Agricultural Development Programme (OYSADEP) headquarters to Saki, and the execution of multiple road projects connecting Iseyin, Saki, Ogbomoso, and Ibadan.

According to the leaders, these achievements are proof of Governor Makinde’s commitment to the growth and prosperity of Oke-Ogun and Oyo State at large. They urged party members to remain steadfast and focused, assuring that the PDP will continue to serve the interests of the people with integrity and inclusiveness.

The group further pledged to strengthen grassroots structures, mobilize greater political participation, and uphold the unity and vision of the governor, regardless of distractions caused by recent defections. They maintained that Oke-Ogun stands firmly with Makinde in his progressive leadership of the state.
