Makinde Constitutes 9-Member Governing Council for LAUTECH Teaching Hospital

Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed a nine-member governing council to oversee the operations and strategic direction of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital. The move comes after sustained demands from staff and stakeholders for stronger institutional oversight and management structure.

The composition of the council includes experienced professionals in health, administration, and academia, charged with ensuring that the hospital delivers quality health services, maintains sound governance, and manages resources efficiently.

In recent weeks, Makinde had intervened during a standoff with striking medical personnel. He promised that a new governing council would be set up within the week to mediate disputes and provide stability. He also approved several welfare measures, including increased subvention, payment of promotion arrears, and integration of non-staff security personnel.

The creation of the council is expected to enhance accountability, accelerate infrastructural development, and align the hospital’s operations with best practices in medical facility management. With this structure in place, stakeholders hope for improved healthcare delivery, reduced industrial unrest, and better resource utilization at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital.
