A widely circulated poster claiming a reward had been offered for information leading to the arrest of Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Iyabo Ojo has been dismissed by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as fake and misleading.
In a statement released on Thursday via social media, the police clarified that the alleged Wanted Person Bulletin naming Iyabo Ojo as wanted by the Office of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Unit is not an official communication from the Force.
“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to clarify that the recent Wanted Person Bulletin circulating about stating that the Nollywood Actress, Iyabo Ojo is wanted by the Office of The IGP Monitoring Unit is NOT an official communication from the Force,” the statement read.
The Force further urged the public to verify information through official channels and exercise caution against misinformation.
This development follows claims made by controversial social media personality Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, who alleged that Iyabo Ojo and others attempted to implicate singer and record label boss Naira Marley in the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
