Humanitarian Advocate Visits Diaspora Leader, Reaffirms Commitment to Grass-roots Development

Humanitarian advocate (Name) recently travelled to Canada for a meeting with the diaspora leader (Diaspora Leader Name), titled Aare of Iresaadu, where he reiterated his enduring pledge to invest in grass-roots development in Oyo State.

During the visit, the advocate expressed gratitude for the diaspora leader’s ongoing support and introduced plans to launch community-driven initiatives in rural areas—ranging from vocational training centres to micro-grant programmes aimed at youth and women. He stressed that “true change begins at the base” and pledged that all projects will be transparent, inclusive and responsive to local needs.

In his remarks, the diaspora leader welcomed the visit as a bridge between overseas Nigerians and home-based development, noting: “Our people abroad must continue to support meaningful investment back home; development is a shared responsibility.” He committed to facilitating diaspora engagement, remittances with impact and technical partnerships for the upcoming initiatives.

The humanitarian’s next steps include visiting target communities in Oyo State within the next quarter to launch pilot programmes, engage local stakeholders and hold town-hall meetings to capture citizen input. His broader vision places Oyo at the forefront of a model where diaspora-led philanthropy, state-led policy and community-led action converge for sustainable change.
