Global Harvest Church Announces "Celebrate Jesus 8.0" Crusade in Ibadan

Global Harvest Church has officially unveiled plans for the eighth edition of its annual flagship gospel event, "Celebrate Jesus 8.0," which is scheduled to take place on January 16 at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium (formerly Liberty Stadium) in Oke Ado, Ibadan. The announcement was made by the Founder and Senior Pastor of the church, Reverend Victor Adeyemi, during a press conference held in the state capital. The cleric described the upcoming event not just as a religious gathering, but as a strategic intervention for spiritual renewal and national intercession. Since its inception within the church auditorium, the program has evolved significantly, expanding its reach to become a major citywide convocation that draws thousands of participants from across the South-West region.

According to Reverend Adeyemi, the primary objective of "Celebrate Jesus" remains consistent: to win souls for Christ and to create an atmosphere of joy, love, and unity within the city. He emphasized that the 2026 edition is rooted in the values of compassion and shared responsibility, with a specific focus on restoring hope to a populace grappling with economic and social challenges. "Thousands of people will turn to Christ, and through that, we believe Ibadan will experience joy and renewal," the cleric stated. He assured attendees that the event would deliver a message of reassurance that God is committed to restoring confidence and purpose in the lives of individuals, regardless of the prevailing circumstances.

A significant portion of the event will be dedicated to praying for the nation, particularly concerning leadership and governance. Pastor Adeyemi disclosed that special intercessory sessions would be held to pray for the emergence of leaders with integrity and genuine vision. He used the platform to comment on the state of the nation, warning political leaders that the "new generation" of Nigerians emerging is one that cannot be easily compromised or bought. He urged the political class to move beyond election-cycle spending and focus on addressing the root causes of insecurity and economic hardship. While acknowledging some of the bold economic decisions taken by the Federal Government, he noted that the average citizen is yet to feel the positive impact, calling for more people-centered policies.

In terms of logistics and safety, the organizers have left no stone unturned. Reverend Adeyemi assured the public that robust security arrangements have been finalized, with personnel from the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) deployed to secure the venue. Additionally, medical response teams, including ambulances and first aid units, will be on standby to attend to any health emergencies. To facilitate easy access for residents, the church has arranged for free buses to convey participants from various designated locations across Ibadan to the stadium.

The event promises a vibrant musical experience with ministrations from a lineup of notable gospel artistes. Confirmed performers include the energetic praise leader Dare Justified, BBO, and Bunche, among others. These ministrations are expected to set the tone for a night of high-spirited worship and praise. By combining spiritual ministration with social commentary and practical logistical support, Global Harvest Church aims to make "Celebrate Jesus 8.0" a holistic experience that touches both the spiritual and social fabric of Ibadan.
