The chairman of Atisbo Local Government Area in Oyo State, Alhaji Bashir Olumuyiwa Alade, has called on party members to close ranks and promote cohesion within their ranks. During a general meeting of the local PDP held in Ago-Are, headquarters of the Atisbo South LCDA, Alade emphasised that unity is essential to advancing the party’s agenda in the region.
Alade used the occasion to donate ₦1 million to the party. He noted that this contribution is meant to signal his dedication to strengthening internal structures, and to encourage everyone to prioritise collective interest over factional divides.
Also present at the meeting were notable party figures including Hon. Samuel Adejumobi (known as “Agbarapo”), and Hon. Ayobami Ojo (“Joybam”), each of whom likewise donated ₦1 million, the chairman pointed out.
Alade thanked party leaders and stakeholders for their fatherly guidance through a recent misunderstanding involving his administration and the Atisbo local government lawmakers. He acknowledged that crises are inevitable where development is underway, but urged that peace reign once disagreements emerge.
He urged councillors, supervisory councilors, special assistants and other critical stakeholders to align with his administration’s vision, placing the interest of the people of Atisbo above personal gains. He reaffirmed his firm commitment to the welfare and development of the area.
Highlighting the achievements of his administration within one and a half years, Alade referenced improvements in security through the establishment of a police post and partnership with Amotekun, the construction of bridges, culverts, drainages, installation of solar-powered street lights, drilling of boreholes and construction of Kraal market to boost the local economy.
He also mentioned that his administration has sponsored at least 20 students of Atisbo origin into higher institutions including the School of Nursing and Abiola Ajimobi Technical University. He described these initiatives as part of his broader plan to uplift the community.
In closing, the chairman reminded attendees that meaningful progress requires unity and collaboration. He said that while disagreements may arise in the course of governance, the real measure of success lies in how stakeholders reconcile and channel their efforts into development rather than settling scores.
