Allow Alao Unveils Redemption Mission Agenda for Oyo 2027

A governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Engr. Oyedele Alao, popularly known as Allow Alao, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election, unveiling a development-driven blueprint for the state.

Alao made the declaration at the Emmanuel Alayande Teachers Resource Centre, where he addressed party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters. At the event, he presented a four-point agenda designed to reposition Oyo State and restore what he described as its lost glory.

Describing his ambition as a “solemn commitment” to the people, Alao said his decision followed extensive consultations with party elders and engagements with residents across key sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, education, and commerce.

“Oyo State is due for redemption. We were once the true Pacesetter, the headquarters of democracy, and the home of firsts. We must reclaim that position,” he stated.

The governorship hopeful outlined his “Redemption Mission 2027,” anchored on four critical pillars: agriculture, healthcare, education, and civil service reform.

On agriculture, Alao pledged to empower farmers with improved seedlings, modern equipment, and access to financing. According to him, the goal is to boost food production, ensure food security, and position Oyo State as a leading agricultural hub in the region.

In the health sector, he proposed a “Health for All” initiative, which includes upgrading primary healthcare centres, revitalising general hospitals, and strengthening preventive healthcare systems to reduce maternal and infant mortality.

Addressing education, Alao promised to declare a state of emergency in the sector, focusing on the rehabilitation of school infrastructure, improved welfare for teachers, and the promotion of STEM education alongside digital literacy. He added that scholarship programmes and vocational training would be expanded to equip youths with employable skills.

On governance, the APC aspirant vowed to reform the civil service through merit-based recruitment and promotion, digitisation of government processes, and enhanced welfare for workers.

“A government is only as effective as its machinery. We will build a responsive, technology-driven civil service that is efficient and accountable to the people,” he said.

Alao also called on party leaders to ensure a credible and transparent primary process, warning against decisions driven by sentiment or financial inducement. He stressed that unity within the APC would be key to winning the 2027 election.

Referencing the leadership approach of Bola Tinubu, he emphasised the need for strategic planning and cohesion within the party.

“This is not just my ambition; it is a collective mission for the redemption of Oyo State. If we get it right at the primary level, we will get the state back on track,” he added.
